Adam Pandolfi - Horn
Adam Pandolfi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from AuburnUniversity. While attending college he became the Principal Horn of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra as well as the fourth horn of the Columbus (GA) Symphony Orchestra. Since completing his degree he has performed regularly with both the Atlanta Symphony and the Alabama Symphony in a wide variety of roles. These performances have included recordings of major orchestral works, as well as tours around the country and performances at Carnegie Hall.
From 2008 to 2011 Adam was the Acting Principal Horn of the Atlanta Opera. In 2009, he won the position of Principal Horn with the Columbus (GA) Symphony. In 2010, he was honored to be able to substitute as Principal Horn with the Atlanta Symphony for a subscription series concert set. In 2012, he performed as a soloist with, and was named the 2nd Horn of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta. In the summer of 2012, Adam performed as a soloist with the Filarmonia de Stat in Sibiu, Romania, playing several works by Vivaldi, Corelli, and Telemann. In 2013, he won the Principal Horn position with the Mobile Symphony. Adam has performed with a number of other ensembles, including the Florida Orchestra, the North Carolina Symphony, the Chattanooga Symphony, the Huntsville Symphony, the Tallahassee Symphony, and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing, he maintains an active private studio.
He has studied the horn with his grandfather Nedo Pandolfi, as well as Richard Sebring, Brice Andrus, and Kevin Kozak, but his primary teacher was his father, David Pandolfi.
Adam resides in Birmingham with his wife Mary, a cellist with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, and their three cats.
