Denise Cridge - Viola

Violist Denise Cridge is an enthusiastic violist in the New York area. She currently holds the Assistant Princicipal chair in the Greenwich Symphony, Lake Placid Sinfonietta, and is principal for the Little Opera Theater of New York. Ms. Cridge has performed for many years with the New York City Opera National Company, the Opera Ensemble of New York, Berkshire Opera, NY Gibert and Sullivan Players and Village Light Opera Group. Ms. Cridge also served as concertmaster, doubling on violin and viola for Chita Rivera on the national tour of Kiss of the Spiderwoman. Work in europe has included playing a season with Novofilarmonia Portuguesa and several tours with the baroque group, Kammerensemble Koln.

Denise has appeared on Unsolved Mysteries with a former quartet. She also is a member of Quentre, a mixed string and wind group.  Ms. Cridge is an avid teacher and has a class at the Allen-Stevenson School, and has violin class at the Fieldston School of Ethical Culture.  Ms. Cridge received her B. Mus degree from the Hartt School of Music where she studied with Francis Tursi and Scott Nickrenz and her M. Mus degree from Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Arianna Bronne and Raphael Bronstein. Further study and coaching were with Jesse Levine, Jerry Beale and Raphael Druian.
