The Lake Placid Sinfonietta celebrated its Centennial Year in 2017. This was a celebratory year that included many initiatives.
Centennial Recording Project
The Lake Placid Sinfonietta released a CD in the summer of 2017, titled "The First Hundred Years". This recording celebrated the history of the orchestra by including works created in 1917 the year of the orchestra's founding along with a new work by Michael Torke, "Sylvan" commissioned for the Centennial year. Along with planning celebratory activities, projects and performances, a Centennial Campaign was launched to build endowment funds sufficient to sustain the orchstra through its second century. The orchestra continues to work toward's buidling endowment funds, and dontations toward this effort are accepted at any time.
