Daniel Black will be appearing as Guest Conductor from July 4 through July 7. Daniel is a Montreal-based American conductor and composer. Daniel has guest-conducted across the United States, Canada, the Ukraine, and Russia, including the Buffalo Philharmonic, the San Antonio Symphony, the Hamilton Philharmonic, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Detroit Opera, and many others. He has conducted world and U.S. premieres by composers Kevin Puts and Eleanor Alberga, and has also conducted a number of film concerts, including Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and The Wizard of Oz. He has held conducting positions with The Florida Orchestra and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and has thrice been awarded Career Assistance Awards from the Solti Foundation U.S. Daniel’s compositions have been performed by the Florida Orchestra, the Eastman Wind Ensemble, at the International Double Reed Society conference, the Chilean Embassy in Buenos Aires, the International Prokofiev Competition, and more.
