Jonathan Brin, Acting Principal Cello

Jonathan Brin earned his BM at the Eastman School of Music studying with Steven Doane where he was a founding member of the Hyperion Quartet.  

As a member of the Quartet, he has won top prizes at numerous competitions including Fischoff and Coleman and held residencies at Kent State, the Hartt School, and San Diego State universities.

As a soloist, he has performed with the Kent State University and Syracuse University Summer orchestras, and served as guest cellist with the Miró Quartet.  

Mr. Brin has been on faculty for the NSOA-ASTA Conference at SUNY Fredonia and the Hartt School.

Currently, Mr. Brin is on faculty at The College of St. Rose and SUNY Adirondack and is a member of the Glens Falls and Vermont symphony orchestras.
